Legacy is a thriller starring Idris Elba and Mark Kilian delivers the tense score. While the score works extremely well it has a lack of grounding thematic material to make it stand out.

The score starts out extremely well. The textures that Kilian uses mix with solo instruments and electronics to create a very tense atmosphere. The score at times has a Harry Gregson-Williams vibe. While the score packs tension the motifs here don't give it a real identity. As the score goes on and on the experience is very much like being lost in the woods. You know the atmosphere and what everything looks like, but you have no idea how you got to this point because everything looks the same.

The score is a decent thriller score with some interesting textures. The score has a style and a distinct sound, but the thematic material doesn't really build or lead anywhere and I never felt like the music was telling me a story. So from that sense I never got emotionally involved.
