Film.Music.Media was honored to return and cover the BMI Film/TV Awards for 2016. It was another amazing night full of some of the industry's top talent joining together to celebrate success in the scoring of films and television. This year, James Newton Howard was honored with the Icon Award for his impactful contribution in the realm of film and television music. The second honoree of the night was composer David Newman who was given the Classic Contribution Award for his advocacy of film music performances in concert halls, most notably through his work with the American Youth Symphony.

F.M.M was stationed on the red carpet to greet many of the guests as they arrived. Below you'll find a selection of brief interviews where you can hear the composers speak briefly about their work, but also the shared question of "what is film music's role in pop culture today"?
